Low-cost humanoid

A 1 meter tall humanoid (legs not shown). Shoulders and waist use cable differential drives. The torso has a total of 16 DOFs:

  • 5 DOFs on each arm (excluding grippers)
  • 2 DOFs at the waist
  • 4 DOFs at the head and neck

The only ferrous components are the servomotors.

I design simple and elegant mechanisms that exploit natural phenomena to achieve their function by drawing inspiration from nature and a deep understanding of the physics of a problem.
